Accelerometer broken?

I have an iPod touch 3G running 4.3.5 and the accelerometer is somewhat broken. When I reboot my iPod, it works for a few seconds then stops...Its been broken for a few months now and I don't know what to do. This may not seem a big issue but it is for me as I am a gamer.

Help is appreciated! 😀

Try restoring your device:

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414

Once the device is restored to factory settings, but before you set up as new or restore from a backup, test the device. If it works, set up as new (backup will most likely be corrupted) If it doesn't work you'll need to get service. Contact your local Apple Retail store or call AppleCare.

Service will be free as long as the device is in warranty and there's no liquid or accidental damage.
