I'm trying to download an app i purchased through itunes on my laptop, to my iphone 3gs. I keep gettting error 0xE8008001. Can anyone help me?
It sounds like either your phone is or was jailbroken and one or more apps selected to sync is not "blessed" by Apple. If it was jailbroken and you've restored the stock firmware (or as close as you can get) find any apps in iTunes that originated outside the app store and delete them, then try the sync again.

Any possibility you ended up with apps in your iTunes library that were either dragged and dropped in from somewhere rather than actually downloaded from the app store? You may have an app that's corrupt as well.
If it's one particular app, I'd say delete it from iTunes and re-download it. You should not be charged a second time if you've already purchased it (with the same Apple ID). If nothing else above applies, I'd say it sounds like the app itself is corrupt somehow.
