Unable to power on iPad 1?

Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider. Let go of the buttons.

Thank you very much. My 7 year old son is so happy, now that he can use his ipad. He's telling his brother and cousins that "Demo is so smart."
