Hi

I had this problem before

I have figured out that you can only turn up the volume of the actual ringer not the actual phone calling volume

I have figured out a way you can now do this

when you are on the phone calling someone press the home button and go onto settings - sounds and turn it all the way down then up again

This will increase you phone call volume as well as your ringers

Hope this has helped

Hi katyfrombristol. Thanks for posting your solution. My volume up button on my 3GS stopped working last week (the volume down button still worked) . I tried a number of things but nothing worked. I then saw your post. I called my home phone number from my iPhone and while Calling pressed the home button (the round recessed button beneath the Bottom of the screen) and went into settings , then sounds, and pressed the 'up' volume button on the left side of my iphone and it started working again.

there must be some sort of glitch in the software. I'm not sure what might have caused this, but I've been using my earphones more this past week

And perhaps when the earphones are pulled out unexpectedly it has an effect on the up volume button? Paul
