screen resolution is not optimal for iPhoto
Just upgraded to Lion, I periodically get the warning: The current screen resolution is not optimal for iPhoto. I didn't get this in Snow Leopard. Why now? I have a Macbook Pro.

So what is the optimal res? I have a new Macbook Pro. I would have thought the res would be already set optimally.
I would think so too. The optimal res is the one at the top of course, in my iMac : 1920 x 1080
My MBP is 1280x800 - the highest available on the list. I guess I won't worry about it. Thanks for th help.
Maybe Lion is a bit confused......😕
I have a new iMac with Lion and running at the highest possible resolution and i keep getting 'The current screen resolution is not optimal for iPhoto.' Maybe Apple will fix in an update?
It is an iPhoto problem at least since iPhoto '09 - my display is 1920 x 1200 and I get the same "Caution".
Same problem here. And when I click OK the iPhoto screen dissapears and I have to restart the software. I use iPhoto '11 in Mac Os 10.7.2. on a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 iMac.
Same message here.
Also not happening on Snow Leopard.

Sad day at Black Rock! Apple no longer has an ability to react directly with its customer base either on line or by phone since the advent of "MobileMe" and the demise of ".Mac"!!! Problems with equipment or software go unanswered unless you are still within the warranty period or have an existing Apple Care contract! My Power Mac G5 Dual Processor and this, MacBook Pro 2.2 (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz), falls in this DITCH!
I am NOT enthralled with this Apple Support Communities - particularly with this re-occurring screen resolution not being optimal problem! Have tried all suggestions - NOTHING HELPS! I give up!! An utter waste of time.
Addendum - I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on this MacBook Pro 2.2 - same situation with 10.5.8 on the PowerMac G5!
Atleast i found a solution that works for me now, keep the system preference doc in your desktop. the caution wouldnt show up then
