OS X Lion graphic glitch

I don't know if this issue is specific to Lion or if it's just my iMac, but ever since I purchased my new iMac a couple weeks ago I've been seeing these really weird 8-bit like glitches occuring everywhere, tainting the appearance of the menu bar and dashboard. Here are a couple screencaps of it:

Anyone else having this issue? It doesn't appear to be hindering the performance of the iMac but it's a real eyesore which sometimes obscures the names of folders. I'm using the latest iMac 27" (mid-2011) 3.4 i7, AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5, 16GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD.

AppleCare's Express Lane. Do note that if you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine..

I have same issue since install lion... Apple don't want do noting for solve and maybe we must buy new Mac or reinstall snowleopard.... Im sorry but don't exist solution....

Would be happy for a fix...

I have two monitors connected and I run VMWare Fusion sometimes... this problem seems to crop up when I have a few intensive programs running.

I have the same problem as well. Getting worse. Please note the unreadable menu, strange blocks on the lower left of desktop, and the banding/flickering that's happening during movie playback on iTunes (all latest version software, Lion, OS, iTunes, etc.). running on a 2011 i7 3.4 ghz iMac27 Radeon HD 6970M. May take it into the apple store here in nyc for evaluation/repair.

Same issue since lion on my 2011 i5 iMac. After watching youtube this often happens and it' s very annoying. It affects the menu bar and the dashboard. Please help because there's no apple store here!!
