Intermitantly my sidebar freezes when on www and I have to close the window and restart, I have recently upgraded to Lion so not sure if it is a know problem, any assistance would be appreciated

Sorry, wasn't very clear, it happens when browsing, if i need to scroll down the page that's when it happens
Do you mean in a browser like Safari?

Are you clicking the eye glass icon to use the Reader?
Hello again, when in my browsing window, if I need to scroll down the page i use the slide bar on the righthand side of the window

slide bar = is actually the scroll bar.

Problem seems to be persisting, the scroll bar hasn't vanished, it just occasionally freezes, and I am unable to scroll down a web page, I have tried using the down key but that doesn't work either. If I refresh the page the scroll will work for a few seconds then freezes again.
Hopefully someone can help me!

iIt seems like I am having a very similar issue to Simon. I am running 10.5.8 and it seems like consistently when I am running either Safari or Firefox and I attempt to scroll down, I get the spinning wheel. I can close the application, but when I go down to select the app on my dock the program will select but not "bounce" or boot up. Then the computer freezes and I have to do a power off and reboot. I have repaired disk permissions, I have nearly 250 GB available, I have run tech tools all with no issues. I would love to have some help as I have yet to find a resolution.
