install iWork from disk
I have iWork 09 boxed version on DVD. No serial # is displayed on the box. How can I install iWork on a new 2011 Mac mini server without using external DVD drive?

You can't.
You can try using an external DVD drive (they're never as compatible as built in ones). To improve your chances only buy the external drive made by Apple.
You can trade your 2011 Mac mini for a 2010 Mac mini (the 2010 model does cost more than the 2011 model because of the built-in optical SuperDrive).
If you have a second Mac or a Windows PC avaiable, you mighht wanna use 'Remote Disc' for this.

I used a 'Remote Disc' to get the 'iWork09.mpkg' (not the alias) on my iMac and then ran the installation without any problem. Thanks Stefan.
