    burn it to a disk

so you mean burn it to a video DVD to play in a DVD player, or do you mean copy the movie file to a data disk to read on another computer ?

If you want a Video DVD for DVD players, you will need a DVD authoring program like iDVD (you could buy iLife11 or iLife09), or a product like Toast 11, and there are a few other "DVD Authoring" programs on the Mac App store.

Even though I hate giving Apple more $ for software they should've given me, I think iDVD thru a boxed set of iLife may still be your best deal...

But even then, you'll need to find another Mac or a PC with a CD/DVD drive to burn it.........and it would need a DVD burning program that can read the image files made on the macbook.......

You best bet may be to upload the movie to a completely different computer for the authoring/burning.......

John is right, if you don't have a DVD burner your best bet is to file share the movie to a comptuer that does have a DVD burner.

I know how to put it on a flash drive. I have a 4 yr. old mac desk top with Mac OS X 10.6.8 (updated). I have just never done this before. What kind of blank DVD do I need to buy? and how do I go about getting it from the flash (if that is the easiest way) to the DVD. I also have a mobile me acct. if that would work better???

I think the Flash drive would work if it's big enough to hold everything.

The kind of DVD you are looking for is DVD-R, you can even buy them at Drugstores now these days. Office supply stores too will have them.

If you can transfer your video to the Desktop Mac, you should look for a Program that will create a DVD that plays back in a DVD player, not just on your computer. It would be called iDVD. And that's what you would use to copy the video project onto the DVD-R in a way that any DVD player can play it back.
