GarageBand 08 - Problem...

Hello

I have a USB cassette player and am currently copying my old tape recordings on GarageBand.

At the moment I have one long recording; how can I split the recording into smaller bits (like tracks on an album) so it is easier to REV or FWD through the recording and get to the bits I want to listen to.

I 'selected all' then 'split' the recording into 6 minute segments but when I 'shared it' with iTunes it was still one long recording!!!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mr Totsy

Hello

I looked at the link you gave me; the question was...

"How do I export SECTIONS from a GarageBand project?"

Unfortunately the links 'answer' took me to the answer to the question asked below it!!!! So no help there I'm afraid.

Can you just give me a simple quick set of steps for breaking up a long song into smaller bits?

Many Thanks.

The answer is the same, that's why you were taken there. Just export the sections ony by one using the "exact length" method. No actual splitting necessary.

An alternative method: make the Podcast Track visible and set markers for each piece. Then you can either export it as a "podcast" with chapters or burn a CD directly from GB with each song on its separate track.
