I set up my Btinternet account manually as a Yahoo account (as Btinternet is Yahoo based). Is yours Btinternet ? The settings that I've got are :

Name : my name

Address : myname@btinternet.com

Password : ...

Description : my name

And that was all I needed to set up, as it's Yahoo based it'a able to use the Yahoo default outgoing settings.

Yes you might as well delete it, there's no need having an unnecessary (and not working properly) account on the iPad - apart from anything else you might accidentally select it in the future and then try to send emails from it.

When you say setting what do you mean, sorry but a bit of a novice when it comes to the connections, I can tell you that I have a wireless network setup at home I run my iPad of my home broadband network, but it is frustrating the he'll out of me not sure what to do.

The account's settings on the iPad : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tapping the account on the right-hand side. How did you set up the email accound on the iPad - did you do it manually by typing in all the details on the iPad, or did you sync the account's settings via iTunes on your computer ?

Also have you been able to receive emails to the account on the iPad ?

Yes I synced it with iTunes first upon first setup, I didn't do it manually and yes can receive emails no problem, just sending them I can't do,do you know how I can,or will I have to ring my provider? Thank you.
