Safari can't open the page - server unexpectedly dropped the connection

I'm running Lion 10.7.1 with Safari 5.1

Only "unusual" thing I did was replace my current keychain with my old Snow Leopard keychain due to many stored keys.

Often (but not always) when I submit a website form I am given an error:

Safari can't open the page

Safari can't open the page "[URL]"

because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes

occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, then try again.

In the URL bar the address I see is: file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/

and if I press refresh, I get pushed back to the previous page with the form BLANK (unsubmitted).

Using Firefox I have no problems.

Clearing Safari Cache and restart no change.

Using reset Safari - no change!

Please give me your help,

Quit Safari.

Open Kaychain Access /Applications / Utilities

Select Passwords on the left.

Delete the Safari Forms Autofill keychain.

Now from the Keychain Access menu bar click Keychain Access / Keychain First Aid. Verify and if necessary click Repair.

Relaunch Safari.

Carolyn,

Thanks for your rapid response. I tried your steps but unfortunately, the problem persists.

After deletion of Safari Forms Autofill, the keychain verify and repair functions both came back with no errors.

But Safari, it still only properly submitting forms 50% of the time. That is the most frustrating part, that the problem is reprooducable but with varying failure consistency...

I have noticed if Safari is still loading the page (items are still being downloaded) while I press the form submission button the success rate is near 100%. Very strange behavior.

Any additional help would be great!
