Arabic PDF files index?

Question

Arabic PDF files index?

is there a way to make Spotlight index a PDF files exported from indesign with arabic articles so when someone search for a word in Arabic inside those PDF file can be found?!
or is there any software that can do this?

There used to be an Arab language kit for OS9 but even that, I think, did not offer the ability to search for files with Arabic names.

I got interested in your problem and looked in Version tracker, but all I came up with was a small list of applications that do other things in Arabic. (Go to http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/ and do a search on the word "Arabic")

Given that Arabic is a major world language, and Macs are presumably used widely in the Arab world, I'm surprised there seems to be little support. Keep looking and asking !

hi Tom, thanx for caring 🙂
but, my problem aint with searching Arabic files names, OSX supports Arabic very well, @ some points even better than OS9, but not better than Windows...
my problem is that if theres any way to search for an Arabic word "inside" a PDF file, like its possible for an English word to be found "inside" a PDF file..
even if the spotlight did an index for the hard drive or a folder that contains PDF with Arabic text contents it still cant find any thing..... 😟
