For some reason, I cant access the itunes store. The loading bar will only load up to half way, then the page will stay white and the bar will disappear. I used to be able to before, but all of a sudden it just doesnt. I'll post the diagnostics that itunes gave me. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

This has worked for me on XP but I now have had to redo each time I go into iTunes. can you tell me exactly what we are doing when we run this in the command prompt?  I have a little bit of computer backround so I am just curious and why do I have to keep redoing it?

frustrating. new version of iTunes Apple, PLEASE!

When we run netsh winsock reset in the command prompt we are resetting the Winsock catalog, or Windows sockets settings, back to default settings. These settings can get corrupted as a result of the installation or action of any software that deals with networking or due to a malware infestation that has occurred in the past or is presently occurring. So by doing the reset, it reverts those settings back to the default and working state. If you have to keep doing it, then something keeps changing the winsock settings on your computer.

I have tried all the fixes suggested in this thread and nothing works. I hope Apple fixes this soon. Seems like many many folks are have a problem with 64bit and the latest version of iTunes.

Xeta - You have saved my sanity.  I have worked on this issue all last weekend.  My teenager thanks you as she has had this problem since June.  Within minutes of reading your response and following what you said, it worked!   Why can't ITunes just tell us this? many thanks again.....

Same problem here, updated in the beginning of September and haven't been able to load the store since, also itunes is slowing the computer to freezing up. Everything worked fine before the upgrade.

I've tryed everything I read on google, on here, nothing seems to work, reinstalled it about 5 times, even reinstalled an earlier version of itunes only to have it not load at all because it said library was created by a later version. I'm about ready to try somthing else other then Apple.

If none of these solutions are working, and you can't find any others, give Apple Support a call. After all, I'm basically doing their job for them. Here is a list of all the numbers for all countries where there is support:

I likewise have tried all the suggestions I can find, but with no success! So I contacted Apple support, who just sent me through the same hoops again. After doing everything they suggested, still no joy, so they say 'If the troubleshooting still didn't correct the issue, I recommend you contact your computer manufacturer for more in-depth assistance.' Not much help when I've had the machine a couple of years, and there's never been a problem with iTunes Store before. This is a W7-64bit machine, so I think that's the basic problem. My W7-32bit laptop has no problem!

I really don't know where to turn next. It's not as if there's any alternative to iTunes we can use!

I used the winsock reset and it did not work: then I saw the suggestion to NOT restart my computer and it worked!!!!  Finally...after about 6 weeks!

I tried that, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. It's something to do with the rendering of the images on the page which is the problem I think. But also, if I run Help|Diagnostics, on the Network Connectivity Tests page I get the following:

    /___sbsstatic___/migration-images/169/16957231-1.jpg

which makes it seem like its the SSL that's the issue. Any ideas anyone?

After trying to fix a similar problem for 8 hours, I tried the winsock reset and it worked perfectly.

Why this fix is not in the iTunes Troubleshooting Guide, I can't understand

Thanks, Xeta! It worked for me. I had to do another command before the flush though. Here is what I did -

    C:\>netsh winsock reset

    Sucessfully reset the Winsock Catalog.

You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.

    C:\>ipconfig /flushdns

    Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

    I have Win 7 64bits SP2 and Itunes 10.5.2

    Open Task Manager

    Select ASPDaemon.exe *32 process

Right click on it and select properties

On the Property window, select COmpatibilty tab

Check the box Run this program in compatibity mode. On the drop dpwn box, select XP SP3

Apply, then close the Property windows

Kill the ASPDaemon process using "End process in task manager

    Logoff, or reboot.

In my particular case, the issue never came back.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately, nothing has as yet worked! Ah well, the only consolation is that Apple aren't getting any revenue from me if I can't load the Store!
