Netflix won't go to fullscreen mode any more?

I think ever since I downloaded the latest Safari update(3 days ago), streaming from Netflix will not go to full screen mode. (I checked this on a PC, and the problem is exclusive to my macbook pro)

I click on the full screen button on Netflix and the web page 'blips' and continues in the web page appearance. I tried clicking it several times and the webpage at that point goes black, and on one occasion I had to force quit safari. I can watch the movie as a web page but the screen times out and goes to my screen saver unless I keep touching something. SO, needless to say- super annoying.

Please help~

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

clicking the video itself (to select the silverlight app) will also let you hit F to get into fullscreen. Thanks for confirming though.

Just hit the F key! hahaha not cmd or any combination there in!

Just downloaded google Chrome and Netflix is functioning as normal.

Click on Fullscreen in the Netflix screen after the show starts. Then press F.

did you try installing and uninstalling silverlight? I would delete the safari extensions (flash and silverlight) and try reinstalling them, or just updating them.

did you try just hitting the F key for full screen and of course esc to minimize it? I also think it helps me when I have the browser window be really small as the video gets really choppy playing on my 1080i display otherwise.

Yes this worked....from another discussion

Go to System Preferences > Hardware > Energy Saver. It's at the very top and therefore easy to overlook.

only now I don't have sound (on Netlfix, Hulu, or itunes for that matter) ...so how do we fix the sound issue now?

No- "command F" does not put any video on safari into full screen mode. That only works when I play dvds or am doing a photo slide show. Netflix has always gone into full screen mode by pressing the button on the web page and then esc to exit that.

So problem still not solved. I'm almost 100% sure that this all started with my safari update a few weeks ago. SInce other laptops (non Mac's) have no issue with this. So if I can somehow go back to the last Safari update, or maybe Netflix has a glitch with Macs?

do you have chrome or FF and are you able to fullscreen with them?

can anyone confirm that hitting the f key normally puts the video in fullscreen?

K nevermind, shut down my laptop, and I am back to no full screen WITH sound...sigh.

I uninstalled silverlight plug ins and reinstalled it via the Netflix website. This did not help.

My MacBook Pro is doing the exact same thing. At first I couldn't stream video at all, but that was solved by updating Silverlight. Now I can stream video, but I cannot get it to go to full screen.
