I have a macbook duo core running 10.6.8 and a Behringer X1622 usb mixer. I get no input signal no matter what I do. Ant ideas?

what have you done?
Clean install of Snow Leopard Garageband. The computer sees the mixer as usb codec and allows me to select it and even gives me audio out but not in.

where are you selecting it?
in system prefs and garageband prefs
on what type of track are you trying to record?

you seem to have set the computer up properly which appears to point to the mixing console as the issue.
are you familiar with mixing consoles? i don't have an x1622 to play with to point out specifics, but things like attenuation have to be up along with the volume fader, any Sends, if the console has them, must be set right...
best bet is to check the owner's manual to make sure you have it actually sending a signal to the computer
I never have understood mixer routing but I have pushed buttons until Im dizzy. I get leds and everything
