can you set an alarm to warm you of low battery?

Just got my new MacBook Pro. Love it, no problems. However, it's replacing an old 12" Powerbook with exhausted battery. I kept that machine plugged in at all times, so I never had to remember to plug in when the battery charge was running low. My windows netbook automatically prompts me to plug in when charge gets below 15%.

Is there some way to set such an alarm on the Mac? I don't want to have to watch the percentage meter in the toolbar, I just want an alarm to go off. Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), 2.3 GHz i5, 4GB RAM, 320 GB HD

It must be an application specific to my netbook, but it lets you set exactly when you want to alarm to go off, for example, when you have 15 mins of battery power left or are down to 10%. And I prefer the beep, nothing to click/clear from the screen.

The Mac dialog box pops up when the battery is virtually drained. Apple seems to calibrate their batteries differently - my windows machine suggest you don't let your battery get below 10% but today when I was using my Mac the dialog box popped when there was only 3% charge left.
