Someone seemed to hack into my computer and put new settings, and files, and locked certain things so i can not access them. What should i do?

i have antivirus and mac keeper as well, and i had both before this problem occured.

I suspect whatever antivirus you're using and/or MacKeeper are causing the issues. I would uninstall both.

The "American symbol" is the keyboard layout you've chosen. You can remove it by going to system preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources > uncheck the box for Show Input menu in menu bar.

If you go to System Preferences and click on the accounts button, do you see only your expected account? Just wondering if when you changed your password, you accidentally created a new account instead.

To remove the "flag" from the login page, if that is what you talking about, go the system prefs, users & groups, select your account and then Login Items and uncheck the box which talks about showing the input menu at login.

But if you normally use more than one keyboard layout, you should leave this there, so you know what layout is expected when logging in.

You do not want to turn this off. The box you might want to turn off is called "Show Input Menu in Menu Bar." But if you normally use more than one keyboard layout, you should leave this on.

Sorry, I goofed, you need to go to Login Options, not Login Items.

Wow, any good outcome to your earlier post of hacking... Iam in the same boat... was Apple helpful and able to also help your situation, because mine is bad!? Thanks ... Really hope things were resolved and people were probably changing info/stuff, etc on your computer... exactlly what I am experiencing ande more!
