Someone seemed to hack into my computer and put new settings, and files, and locked certain things so i can not access them. What should i do?

It all started when my password was changed. I changed my password, and then thought everything was fine. But recently i have discovered i am not able to access certain administrator settings and there has been some files and programs downloaded, and settings are very different in almost all of my applications, and system settings.

I am the only user, i only have one log in name, and no one shares the computer. I had the laptop since 2009 oct. And this is my first problem. I dont know what to do. i would delete and restore it new, but i want to make sure this wont keep happening.

Also there is a little american icon in the top right when i log in now? dont know what that is either.

If someone can please tel me any suggestions on what to do because i know someone is messing with my settings, and whole computer and i dont know what to do!!

i have antivirus and mac keeper as well, and i had both before this problem occured.

VERY CONFUSED!!

HELP!

I suspect whatever antivirus you're using and/or MacKeeper are causing the issues. I would uninstall both.

The "American symbol" is the keyboard layout you've chosen. You can remove it by going to system preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources > uncheck the box for Show Input menu in menu bar.

To remove the "flag" from the login page, if that is what you talking about, go the system prefs, users & groups, select your account and then Login Items and uncheck the box which talks about showing the input menu at login.

But if you normally use more than one keyboard layout, you should leave this there, so you know what layout is expected when logging in.

system preferences is one of the screen shots. its just one that is shows. Also in finder i have all these devices at the bottum and i do not know why they got there cause i swear they were not there before. The input device screen shot i posted was to show that the US is checked yes, but it is not allowing me to uncheck the box to turn it off.

Also there was my voice utility turned on and a audiohijack installed?

its all very shady
