Can an iPhone carry a virus

If a windows computer has been infected with a virus that replicates through the USB port, is it possible for an iOS device to carry the virus?

The iPhone is connected through the USB port and I'm wondering if there is a chance that it too can become a virus carrier and infect other computers?

My USB drive and key have been both infected by some root kit. Upon auto run, the virus instals and infects another computer.

May i ask? I have problem with my iphone 5. I accidentally clicked on suspicious link sent through chat application on iphone 5. So, if i'm unlucky to get infected malware/spyware/virus/etc. on my iphone, if i connect my iphone5 to my window laptop to transfer photo and data through USB port, will the iphone be a "carrier" to transmit those infection to my window laptop? I have heard that ios doesn't have virus/malware/etc. because those cannot be run on ios, but still it can be a "carrier" because the infection is still in it but just couldn't run on ios. So if i have connected those infected ios device to window device, the infection can be transmitted to window device and harm the window device. Is that true?
