Making Keyboard Disappear

How do you make the keyboard disappear when it does not go away on its own, or when you are done?

Yes, totally sure. iPhone 8 has the normal keyboard, and there is definitely no keyboard button in the lower right corner. Or any corner. In the lower right, there is the [go] button (blue).

I just got this phone this week, and it's maddening that the keyboard completely obstructs that things I'm typing on, and I can't push enter buttons or see what I'm texting. Sometimes the keyboard behaves as you would expect it to, appearing and disappearing when you think it should, but sometimes it just won't go away.

Right now, for example, I'm trying to log into an app. There is a login text box at the top of the page, and so the keyboard is open, but the "log in with facebook" button is UNDER the keyboard, so I can't use it. At all. So I can't log in to this app because I don't have a normal login.

I had the same problem on my ipad1. Here's what fixed it. Go to settings, general then keyboard. Hit international keyboard. Then hit the top line that lists the language you are using. It then says,"choose a software keyboard layout". It lists 3 types, qwerty, azerty and sweets. Choose a different one that is selected and then try your keyboard. If you don't like the new keyboard layout, you can always go back and select the same one you were using before when you had the problem! I figured this out today, it works!
