Can't install Lego Digital Designer

I can't get Lego Digital Designer to install on my MacBook.

When I reach the destination selection screen, my hard drive has a yellow caution sign over it and the window says "Lego Digital Designer cannot be installed on this disk. LDD only tuns [sic] on 10.5.0 or higher.

I'm currently running mac OS 10.6.7

I downloaded installers for versions 3.1.3, 4.1.7, and 4.1.8 of Lego Digital Designer from various websites and they all gave the same error message. I also tried installing it on an external hard drive with the same result.

Any ideas on how I can get this program to install?

It's probably one of those installers that will only work if you let it install in its default locations, most likely /Applications. If it is /Applications, let it do its install then move it where you want to. Odds are pretty good it won't care but I would have to look at the installer itself to be completely sure.

Update a little later: 124MB download, grrr 😢

Update after download: Yup, just move it out of /Applications if you want. Should work. I see nothing obvious in the installer to the contrary (no, I did not run the installer).
