iMac G3 software update

Is there some update option in IE 5? Maybe in Preferences or Help. EDIT: I think the linked instructions are only for Windows. Anyway, don't know if 6 will be much of an improvement.

Once you get it updated, get completely away from IE. What browser will depend on your OS, once we know that.

EDIT: you have no version of Safari installed? Check Applications. But maybe not, as Safari may have been released later. Sorry, real Catch 22 situation.

didnt safari get installed as part of OSx?

you could jsut donwload firfox or safari or somethign on another coputer (at work / mates house?) and save the dmg installer to a USB stick?

Some years ago, Microsoft discontinued further development/updates for the final OS X-compatible version of Internet Explorer (5.2.3). Either use Safari, which should have been installed with Tiger, or go to Mozilla's web site and download the latest version of Firefox that's compatible with your PowerPC G3 processor-based iMac running OS 10.4.x.
