Why do photos become fuzzy when you crop them in iPhoto '11?

Hi,

I last used iPhoto with the version that came preinstalled with my G4 PowerBook. I'm now using the version that comes preinstalled with Lion.

I just tried to crop a photo for the first time. It cropped it and the photo went fuzzy. I left the photo and looked at the next and then went back to the photo I had just cropped and it was sharp again. Is there a setting I've missed?

I'm pretty sure the version of iPhoto I used to use did not do this.

Generally the fuzziness is because iPhoto has not yet re-generated the preview based on your crop. It should not show up in any "finished product" like prints or exports.

Are you saying the fuzziness went away when you went back and looked at the cropped image? This is exactly what I would expect.

Thanks for the help!

Is there a way to do a refresh without having to leave and re-enter the photo?

The version of iPhoto that came with Panther did not do this, as I recall.

Since there is no version of iPhoto that comes with any OS it owuld help if you told us what version you have. While iPhoto comes with all new Macs new versions are only available by purchase not part of OS upgrades
