At the front of my iMac screen, on the left and the right sides of the screen screen, 13 inches down from the top and 5 inches up from the bottom, there are two magnetic areas. They can attract the earbuds from Apple headphones, for example. Just noticed. What might this be?

The outside glass is connected to the chassis via magnets, so I'm not terribly surprised your earbuds are attracted. Nothing to be concerned about.

But they also work as a handy way to hold your earbuds in an easy-to-find place. Reminds me indirectly of one of the funnier "true stories" from the a tech help line. One customer called up to ask about the "cup holder" on his PC tower (i.e. the disk slot)
