To improve management and integration with our Active Directory infrastructure; we're thinking of setting up a Lion server on our network in the Apple recommended "Golden Triangle". However, for obvious reasons, we would like to try before we buy. Is there any way of getting a demo or trial license (and software) for Lion? Thanks...

I may be missing something, but the URL you posted is just about purchasing volume licensing from Apple.
I find it hard to believe Apple could be so arrogant as to not provide trial or demo licensing for their server OS. That would make them the only OS provider on the planet that doesn't. If that's the stand-point of Apple then I'm not surprised so many organisations are sticking with just Microsoft AD or Linux/SAMBA.

Lion only costs $30 USD, and the server app only costs $50 USD. That's not a lot of money for what you get. As far as I know Apple has never offered trial licensing for its server OS.
I have also heard of very big problems when integrating with Active Directory. I would hold off for a few more point releases before adding in a Lion server.
