Verizon MiFi Hotspot not connecting WiFi on Ipad 1

I have an Ipad 1. I have the Verizon MiFi hotspot. All of a sudden it will not connect the WiFi on my Ipad. It does connect (hotspot) on my Iphone and a laptop I have. When I called the braintrust that is Verizon "Tech Support". They ultimately told me that "It was a known bug in the Ipad and I would have to contact Apple for a solution." Pretty lame but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Is this a problem within the Settings on my Ipad? What is the fix if it is? Thanks

I think that Fred*M gave you a couple of good suggestions and I would like to add Settings>WiFi>MiFi Network Name and then tap the blue arrow next to the name of the network and then tap Forget This Network. Then restart your iPad and try to join the network again.

To restart, hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears then slide to shut down, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears to start up again.

I have a MIFI2200 hotspot and have never had problems connecting so I can assure you that it is not an iPad problem.
