Hi everyone!

I need some help

I am trying to update software from standart "Software update..." tool or would like to connect to App Store, but can not.

When I am trying to update immediately get a message: "Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem" and next "Software Update can't connect to the server. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, and then try again". And its offers me to make "Network diagnostics" witch shows that Internet and Server red (unavailable) but there is no problem with a network. I can do everything - browsing, download updates from iTunes and do all what I want.

In console I see this text:

07.09.11 13:42:57,007 com.apple.SecurityServer: Failed to authorize right 'system.install.app-store-software' by client '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PackageKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/in stalld' [14547] for authorization created by '/System/Library/CoreServices/Software Update.app' [14536]

07.09.11 13:54:54,527 Software Update: SoftwareUpdate Scan: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1004 "Could not connect to the server." UserInfo=0x10e35cbe0 {NSUnderlyingError=0x10e35c3f0 "Could not connect to the server.", NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=http://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-lion-snowleopard-leopard.m erged-1.sucatalog, NSErrorFailingURLKey=http://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-lion-snowleopard-leopard.m erged-1.sucatalog, NSLocalizedDescription=Could not connect to the server.}

AppStore writes me that connection failed.

I am very sad about it There was nothing before this problem.

Does somebody understand console secret text? And can somebody help me?

Had the same problem a few months ago so I reset my router configurations and everything was ok again...go have a look at your router just in case disconnect from electricity wait and reconnect. If that does not do the job reset the router and its configurations.

    I think it might help!

Well, I reinstalled Lion and now it works...

I don't thionk the router had anything to do with this, since all other network activites worked.

Ok! My problem was with the Little Snitch (Firewall software).

This program has unexpectedly started to block traffic from Software updater and AppStore.

Thanks to everyone! I hope all of us with the same problem will find their own cockroach in system or in head as me

Hi, I cant update, getting this error in console:

    Software Update[262]          Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1001 UserInfo=0x1006659e0 "The request timed out." Underlying Error=(Error Domain=kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork Code=-1001 UserInfo=0x100662f60 "The request timed out.")

    anyone that can help?

    I have tried:

         - changing location in network preferences.

         - deleted /librarary/Preferences/ com.apple.softwareupdate.plists

         - Add the following line to your /etc/hosts file: 80.67.74.160 swcdn.apple.com

         - deleted Cache in both user/Library and /Library

Problem seems to be only on one MBP  > Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549)
