Editing Photo Info (Name/Description) not remaining when importing to Wordpress Post

I import a photo from lets say Wikicommons. I change the name by removing underscores or something. I add the credit to . . . in the description line. It seems to save fine. When I import into Wordpress for use in a post the info has reverted to what was originally on the import from Wikicommons however the changes made to the iphoto import are intact. Am I missing a step?
