My ipod in repair limbo!

I sent my ipod for repair 8 days ago using the box apple sent me. According to the "check your repair" page it has not arrived at the repair place. All it says is "Empty box shipped" (the one I received. When I call the automated repair number, they say my repeair is done call back for shipping info. I've called back 3 days in a row and got the same messege. I'm not convinced at this point the ipod ever arrived. Should I start freaking out yet or should I give it a few more days? The only live person I could get on the phone was a tech support guy and he couldn't answer my question or give me a number to call to find out!

Any advice out there?
