Verizon 4G LTE USB Modem won't configure

Installed fine on my Dell W7 work laptop. But when trying to configure on my 2010 MacAir OSX 10.6.8 it tells me to fill out information below. With a blank country drop down menu and no selections. Only option is to cancel. 3G modem works fine

Any help greatly appreciated

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try this:

- Uninstall the version of VZAccess Manager you are trying to use

- Go to this website: http://www.vzam.net/download/supported.aspx

- Use the chart to find your specific device/OS version and then download/install the corresponding version of VZAccess Manager

Should work like a charm once you get the correct version of VZ AM, there are many different builds for each device/OS version. I just got my Pantech UML290 installed on my 2011 Air the other day, runs like a champ with stupid fast mobile broadband speeds in my neck of the woods.

Hope this helps!

Simon,

Just wanted to let you know about something I just found out. Apparently there is an issue with the version of VZAccess Manager that is listed for Lion for the UML290 (VZ Access Manager version 7.3.6 (2704b.) I don't know if this is the USB modem that you're using, but if it is, according to reports (and my personal experience after checking,) it only provides an average of 2-3 Mbps down/up speed. I found a report that stated that the 7.3.6 (2704a) build is much better suited for broadband applications, tried it out, and miraculously I was getting 12-13 Mbps down and 8-9 up. This is the version that is listed for the USB551L and the VL600. If you have the UML290 modem, give the 2704a build a shot and let me know what you think.

Well, there are couple of different things you can look at that will give you slightly different information.

If you're hooked up to the internet with your Verizon USB modem you can go to the VZAccess Manager app and click the "View" tab up top and then "Statistics." This will allow you to watch realtime TX/RX speeds directly from the device.

If you want to see what your maximum current TX/RX speeds can be, go to www.speedtest.net and take the test. Because of the funky IP address that USB modems usually give, you'll get your best results if you manually select the server closest to you from the map that pops up.
