Alright, it appears Apple has problems with the HDMI to HDMi connection for my Panasonic TC-P54V10 so I was wondering of I might be better off trying to use the Thunderbolt output. Is there a converter for HDMI? My TV has HDMI, VGA, component or composite.

There is a mini display port to HDMI adapter. I use one for my MacBook Pro. The one I have is made by Kanex. It does not pas audio. You would need to use an optical cable for that.
Actually the current version 2 of the Kanex Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter does support audio as well as video. It even specifically says it is compatible with Thunderbolt connections.
Installed the firmware update this evening, seems to have solved all of my problems. :-). Good luck to all.
