Has anyone tried putting on clear packing tape on ipod screens?

Well I did a terrible thing today and put my ipod in the same pocket as my keys.:( ouch... the screen looked horrendous. Well when i got home I thaught of a way of protecting it even though it was to late. I used this clear Packing tape that was lying around and It looked fine. Does anyone know if their will be glue or anything left on it if I take it off?

well i've tried doing that and no I does not leave any kind of glue or anything but eventually the clear packing tape will come off; it did on mines and my sisters and then I bought this http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/71302/wo/3I5wY69 ELoIC3Vqv8ZT1vCdmILd/1.0.19.1.0.8.25.7.11.1.3 and it protects very well no scractes yet on my iPod.

i put plastic food wrap on tha screen

a few drops of water to make it smooth as the plastic, and then u cant even see it

O_O

it does come off every 2 weeks so i just keep on putting it back on

Yes , i have tried that also. It works perfectly , I managed to save 10 bucks on a screen protecter. For added fun I put electrical tape all over my ipod (not on the screen) , even on the click wheel. It offers great protection. In my opinion homemade protection devices can help you save money and help protect your ipod even better.
