How long should an iPad take to restore?

My iPad crashed when I tried to update software (as did my iphone 3G?). I am now restoring and it says it is going to take 3 hours...is this right? Seems crazy? 😕

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

I've never restored mine, but the amount of time that it will take will depend on how much content it has to restore e.g. if you have lots of large apps, and they each have large content (e.g. camera roll, magazines, newspapers, third-party video apps, lots of documents etc) then it might take a while. But the length of time given will be an approximation, it might take quite a bit less than that.
