Chinese sellers

They are not an authorized reseller and from various sources that site is listed as being a source of mailware and so are completley untrustworthy. That their domain is registered through a registrar in Canada is also an indication that these people are not legitimate.

The only authorized resellers in China are Apple themselves, either online or from an Apple Store, or China Unicom. Any other seller may sell you an iPhone imported from some other country, for which you would not be able to get service in China, or a fake.

Bottom line: if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true. Buy from an authorized reseller to avoid being scammed.

I doubt very much that anything slipped through your fingers other than a fake, an unsupportable iPhone, or a ripoff.

There are none. As I said, the only authorized sellers in China are Apple and China Unicom. If you buy from anywhere else, you risk being ripped off in some fashion.
