Are apps in App Store approved by Apple?

I just downloaded "Memorial" (to 9-11). it contains pics and videos from the attack. The videos are coded in Flash!

This is not the first time that this has happened to me. I trashed the others as I expect that I will do with this one.

iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iPad-1 IOS 4.3.5

Apple apparently doesn't check the apps very well. These videos are not downloaded after installation. They're embedded in the app.

All sales final. That's a **** of an attitude from a company that strongly defends its refusal to support Flash yet sells apps with embedded Flash. This one is free but it's happened with others that I paid for.

Contact iTunes and tell them. they just *might* refund your money.

BTW, what did the user reviews say about this app? Did they mention some of the pics were in Flash? You may want to review it yourself and let other people know so they won't get that app.

As I had indicated previously, this app was a freebie. However, I should have been suspicious about the reviews. There were too many glowing reviews the first day that the app was released. I now believe that they were "plants" (which also disturbs me). After I had my issue, I read through many of them and, when you get to the bottom, there are some negative reviews that do mention the Flash issue.

I dont see one just called "Memorial". Perhaps it's been pulled.

My bad. The correct name is "The 911 Memorial: Past, Present and Future." It's in the "Featured - New and Noteworthy" grouping.

If you get it, go to "The Past" and look at the "Construction of the Twin Towers." All the movies are Flash. Also, in "The Past," look at "The Day of 9/11." Some movies are Flash and some are not. Etc., etc., etc.

It still in the App Store. It's called The 9-11 Memorial: Past, Present and Future. Some of the reviews do mention that the Flash videos render the app useless.

The bothersome aspect of the reviews is the quantity of excellent ones that ignored the Flash issue, expecially since they appeared immediately after the app was introduced. Methinks that they're not exactly from users.
