Q: Xsan Security Issue?

I upgraded to Lion yesterday and my laptop last week.  I was trying to use Back to My Mac from my laptop last night (from a friends apt) and realized my desktop was in sleep mode.  Got that figured out this morning and all is good with BtMM.

But now I have an Xsan icon/Application Helper in my System Preferences on my desktop computer.  I noticed a new icon at the bottom of the System Preferences window this morning... When I click on it, it says, "This computer is not configured as a member of a SAN.".  When I click the lock, it asks for my admin p/w and the window states "System Preferences is trying to add a new helper tool. Type your password to allow this.".

I have a general idea what Xsan is and does but, I am almost positive I don't need it and 100% positive I did not install it.

Unrelated or not - as of this morning also, my iCal isn't syncing with MobileMe now.  When I launch it, it is as if there isn't a MobileMe account attached to it at all.  Even though in the MobileMe tab in System Preferenes, my account is listed and everything is checked to sync.

Questions

Why did the Xsan helper application mysteriously install and do I need to uninstall / delete it?

How do I delete it from the System Preferences pane?

Thank you, Slightly Paranoid
