Q: eMac -- Pro Mouse flaky

Okay, so I have an Apple mouse (Pro Mouse), which has normally been used on the eMac. It's been plugged into my Vista PC a few times, and it no longer works. I've been using another PC mouse since, which is kinda annoying. Help me get it back on its feet, please! Otherwise, the Mac has been working great.

eMac, Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Hello, what is it you like about the Pro mouse, & is any part of it working? What don't you like about the PC mouse?

I find $3 PC mice better than any Apple Mouse here.

Most of my Pro Mice died where the USB cable enters the mouse.

    I'm with BD on this.

All the G4 and newer Macs in our family have Logitech mice because we can't stand the Apple versions. You should be able to pick up a new scroll-wheel mouse (the wheel is your new friend waiting to be introduced) for what you'd pay for a used Pro Mouse.

The extra button lets you right-click to bring up useful contextual menus without have to reach to the keyboard to do control-click.

Apple makes great computers but seems to be challenged in creating a user-friendly and reliable mouse. I've used them all except for the Magic Mouse and still fall back on the Logitech.
