I have logged in using my OSX CD as i forgot my loggin password to my MBP. After resetting the password and logging in wit the new password the system asks me about using the "login" keychain by entering the keychain password. How can i retrieve this password or reset it?

You cannot retrieve or reset the keychain password. If you could, it would be worthless as a means for storing information securely! You will need to delete that keychain and create a new one, if you can't remember the password.
I am having a problem resetting the keychain (forgot password). You can't reset it because it wants the password! LOL Catch 22! So, exactly what do I delete? Keychain access under Utilities? The entire KeychainAccess.app ????
I need to do this because it's been several years since I accessed it, and originally I couldn't SEND email, so in searching the forums here one thing led to another trying to set my outgoing email (everything was set correctly, but still wouldn't send). From there it went to resetting the mail password. Forgot that. Didn't know if it was the same as my apple and itunes password. From there was instructed to try and reset the keychain if I couldn't remember THAT password.
Now I'm starting from scratch.
Any suggestions? It's a mess now.
