FaceTime not connecting

Hello

I have been trying to use FaceTime on my computer (it came installed on the computer). When I try to call my girlfriend via her email address it will contiusouly ring. On her computer she can see that I'm trying to connect but nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
