Use Automator to copy changed files

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to copy files from one folder to another, so that I've got a constant backup.

Basically, I'm using MAMP to test out a website I'm doing, when I recently restored my system I was unable to recover the folder through Time Machine as it's in the MAMP application, rather than my sites folder. What I want to do is create a copy of my development folder into my Sites folder, which I can be sure will get backed up properly.

I've not used Automator before, but I've managed to create a Folder Action that does the following...

  • Get Specified Folder Items (set to my MAMP Development folder)
  • Get Folder Contents
  • Copy Finder Items (set to my Sites folder)

This doesn't work quite how I hoped, it's not copying as I expected. What I want is a replica of the folder. So the first time I run it, it will do a full copy, after which I just want it copy any files that I update as and when I make a change them.

Can anyone offer any advice on how I can proceed.

Many thanks

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6)
