Hi there,

i got a Problem with my iphone 4 and my os windows 7 porfessional 64 bit.

Last week my pc crashed and after 12 hours to find the problem (it was the memory... bloody things) i have allready deleted everything and partitioned the hd new.

So after rescuring my pc and installing everything i downloaded the newest version of itunes64 and installed it and tried to connect my iphone. the first thing i mentioned when i plug in my iphone was that windows can´t find drivers but my iphone was found in itunes. i can´t sync music or manual put it on the iphone but i could sync my apps

in the device manager the iphone is mentioned as iphone but under "other devices" and i can´t get it in the explorer. so i can´t get the pictures from my iphone

So after a few hours and tring asking the crystalball called google

( allready tried extracting the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi out of itunes64 installer and tried to direkt the driver to that folder but windows can´t find any driver in there)

i´m running out of options. So the last thing i will try is this community.

Okay, I'll tackle the drivers issue first. If it doesn't want to load the drivers, you will need to uninstall iTunes completely and then reinstall it. You need to follow the instructions in this support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

After reinstalling it, start iTunes and then reconnect the iPhone. It should install the drivers from there.

As far as pictures, the only photos that will show up in Explorer are ones in the camera roll. If you are talking about wanting to get the photos that you had originally synced from the computer to the iPhone, you will have to look into 3rd party software to get that. Touchcopy works on the Windows systems.

Another question. When you look in Device Manager, do you see any errors, red x's or the yellow exclamation points?

So after doing what the article says i started itunes and it installed the apple mobile usb driver but still the same problem. the iphone aren´t listed as a storage medium in the explorer and in the device manager it´s still under "other devices" with a yellow exclamation mark.

sry for the missunderstanding the photos taken with the iphone were meant

to add a bit the device manager says on showing the properties for iphone:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

With the iPhone connected, you can go into Device Manager and right click on the iPhone where the yellow exclamation is and remove it. Then remove the iPhone and then reconnect it and see if it installs the drivers correctly.

Your sentence about the photos wasn't complete, so I'm not sure that you are saying the photos you are referring to were taken with the iPhone and are in the camera roll? Is that correct? As I said earlier, this is the only way the iPhone would show up as a storage medium, or show like a digital camera.

Sry ChrisJ4203 for the confusion. I solved the problem with this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2600731?start=0&tstart=0)  after searching the web another night. Never thought Windows can be such a *****. But problem is solved an i can rescue all the taken photos with the iPhone

Thank you for your time chris and have a nice day.

I'm glad you got it resolved, however this is a first for me as I've used a number of iPhones on several Windows 7 computers and never encountered this problem, and I've never downloaded and installed any additional software from Microsoft. That puzzles me, however I've saved that information in case I see something about it again in the future.

To make it clear i got a so called N Version. Called Windows 7 professional 64 Bit N. In the n version there ain´t the aero view and the media player is missing and obviously some other features. So if u struggle about some problems that sound like this ask if they use the N version of windows 7

Sounds like it might be some type of networking version, hence the N. I remember is XP Professional there were some of the media features missing in it for a while, like they were trying to tell you not to use Media player at your desk at work! Thanks for the update.
