Numbers 2.1 Software Update?

Hello,

I've tried searching the forum with no luck. I recently opened Numbers and a window popped up informing me about Numbers software update 2.1. It says it offers support for Lion. I clicked on go to software update and says that my application is up to date. I'm confused? Where's the update and how do I get it? I went on the App Store application and looked for updates there with no such luck.

Thanks for your time,

AJ

It would be useful to tell us the way you got Numbers.

(1) If you got it as a component of the entire package iWork, you may update thru Software Update or thru

http://support.apple.com/downloads/#iwork

CAUTION

The updater requires that the three apps are in their official location :

<startupVolume>:Applications:iWork '09:

(2) If you got it thru mac App Store, you must enter the mac App Store and click the rounb button entitled "Updates".

Thanks for your question.

To check the exact title I entered the MAS and saw that six updates are available for me.

Thank you for your quick reply.

It's a good question as to when/where I acquired iWork. I've migrated the suite of applications from a couple of different Macs and it may have been pre installed in my old 2006 Macbook Pro.

I downloaded an update from Apple's website and went to install the package. A window popped up telling me it's not in the right location. I don't have an application folder called iWork, just the three separate applications of Numbers, Pages and Keynote in the Applications folder. How do I restore the software to it's original state?

Thanks again for your help,

AJ

Wonderful.

Today you are the third asker unable to read carefully a message containing 100 words.

I carefully wrote :

If there is no folder named iWork '09 in your Applications folder, create such one.

From the Finder, open the folder Applications then press :

cmd + shift + N to create a new folder and rename it as iWork '09

Then drag the three aps from the folder Applications to the newly created one.

If I understood well what you wrote, you bought a macBook Pro 2006.

Maybe you bought it with iWork pre-installed but it wasn't embedding Numbers whose version 1 was introduced in summer 2007.

As you are asking about Numbers 2.1 it's not the old version which you use.

Don't forget that the License states clearly that a single copy of the iWork package may be installed only on a single machine at a time.
