Is there a way of transferring iPad GarageBand projects to logic pro 9 without the use of GarageBand?
I currently have the 08' version of GarageBand as I don't use it on my mac but trying to open a project from my iPad leads to an error message stating that I need to upgrade to the latest version.
Is there a workaround for this or is upgrading the only solution?

Yes, you need to update your version of Logic to 9.14 and above (the latest is 9.15)

Thank for the reply. My signature above was actually out if date when I posted, I'm already on 9.1.5.
That's good news that I can import directly into logic. Do I simply open the GarageBand app file after launching logic? I'm not at computer to try just now.
All you have to do is send the files you've created in GarageBand to your computer (via email or iTunes) and then open them in Logic. You can highlight the file, right-click and select Logic or within Logic just open it from the file menu. GarageBand on your mac isn't necessary.
