Macbook screen keeps going black?
My macbook screen kept going black if tilted or touched the right way... all programs still ran, but the screen was out and I had to restart to (hopefully) get it back. About a week or two ago, I couldn't get the screen to come on at all when I turned it on. It only flickered and then went out.
I took it into the Apple store, and the girl turned my computer on and off and then told me I had to replace both my screen and logic board. I find it hard to believe she could figure out that both needed to be replaced when she hardly looked at my computer, so just looking for some outside input...
I tried hooking it up to an external monitor, but it was still black. Because of that, my brother has told me it's my logic board and not my screen, but again--outside input would be awesome.
And does anyone know how much replacing just the logic board would cost? They told me they'll do the screen and board replacement for a flat fee of $280, but for just the logic board..?
I've had this computer for four and a half years and have never had to send it in, so I'm not sure how well their support works. I just don't want to have them replace something that doesn't need replacing. I can't afford to just throw in money until they get it right.
