Lion OS 10.7 won't mount blank BD disc's; OS10.5.8 will.

Setup:

Mac Mini - 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

Lion OS 10.7 (11A511)

Problem:

I recently purchased a Panasonic / Matshita USB 2.0 UJ-240 Blu-Ray Burner/Player. (Firmware 1.01).

I insert a blank (Verbatim) BD-RE or blank (Verbatim) BD-R in the drive.

The drive "reads it" for a short period, then spits it out.

Nothing I've tried over a couple of days will get OS10.7 to mount the BD disc's.

I connected the Bluray drive to my ancient PowerMac G4 running OS 10.5.8, and it mounted the BD-RE without issue.

I'm currently burning a test data backup using Toast 10.

Can I assume that this is a LION OS 10.7 "issue", and if so does anyone know how I fix it?

Or is this a combo of running LION on a Mac MIni, and if so does anyone know how I fix it?

And has anyone else had this problem and have a solution?
