Mac OS X v10.7 Lion broke my DisplayLink Adaptor and Displaylink says it's Apple's Issue to Solve.

Please Apple provide fix ASAP. This is really impacting productivity!

I had same issues. Drag-and-drop issues are present only in 10.7 and not only display link drivers are affected. Almost all apps which extends desktop using iphone/ipad screen cause same mouse bug.

Solution?

I reverted to 10.6, requested moneyback and in SL all works fine, but why it does not makes me happy?

<sigh> I just lost a monitor due to this bug too. Boo.

My MacBook Pro is also suffering from this issue.

Apple, someone, please fix!

10.7.2 released yesterday solves no issues regarding the displaylink driver incompatibilites; with the aformentioned list of systems (including MY mac on that list)

My USB driven external monitor is collecting dust because of OSX Lion breaking the compatibility; which makes me unhappy!

I dont know how else i can officially voice my concern elsewhere on this issue.

Yes! Chiming in. In fact seeing ths completely ignored by Apple is clarfying how Apple cares about their clients.

Apple: please fix or at least have someone communicate about what we can or can not expect.

For what it's worth, upgrading to 10.7.2 seems to have solved my issues. My MBP falls in the 15" MacBook Pro (mid 2009) category.

I still run into a few display issues such as those associate with Photoshop CS4, but overall I've got two monitors up and running without trouble.

Noop can't confirm that the issue has been solved with 10.7.2.

Apple's ignornace to the core of the problem is a pain in the **** confirming that they realy don't care a **** about the details of a problem if its not hitting their broader customer base. Bad, very bad attitude!! Let me re-think and help others to re-think their product preferences in the future.

I use Diamond BVU195 USB-to-DisplayLink adaptors. Just updated mid-2009 13" mbp (a model that appears on the list in Peter Duke's post) to MLion 10.8.2 from SL. Big mistake. Never a problem with SL, but Mountain Lion has been quite underwhelming.

Regarding the BVU195, there is flickering/pulsating when I open Safari Top Sites or open some sites such as Hotpads.com. In Hotpads, everything seems fine until I move the mouse over a "house", an action that causes the map portion of the window to go nuts.

I have WASTED SEVERAL HOURS trying to get this fixed, trying 3 different DL drivers (1.8 seems to work the best), all the while having flashbacks of past Microsoft Windows' woes. I have had my laptop lock up (requiring on/off button shutdown) more often in the past 3 days than the previous 3 years. And to think that this problem has been ongoing for over a year - unconscionable! on the part of Apple. Why Apple and not DL? I can open the same sites with no problem when using Firefox (my new default browser.)

Speaking of flashbacks, I can remember a time 20 or so years ago when I bought my first Compaq computer and was in heaven. I had a similar estatic feeling when I moved over to Apple 3 years ago. The burden of endless angst had been lifted, or so I thought. Sure, when I bought the Compaq, I spent twice as much for the "same" specs (sound familiar?) and had limited aftermarket upgrade options due to its proprietary build (sound familiar?) but it worked almost flawlessly (familiar?) and offered phenominal support, second to none (familiar?). I never regretted paying out the extra money - the experience was well worth it. But now Compaq, once a leader in quality and innovation, is now all but a forgotten joke. I truly hope Apple isn't headed down the same path of putting out garbage and then ignoring the problems that follow. A year and still not addressed - unconscionable!

I am having an incompatibility problem running DisplayLink software on my mid 2012 MBP Retina using OS 10.8.3 (which I think is the latest version of Mountain Lion.) The Sleep mode comes on between keystrokes. It is as if my MBP has a case of narcolepsy. Apple wiped out all my software and reinstalled the OS. I had to upload all my data and applications from my TimeMachine back up disk. Apple told me not to upload the Settings, which I did not do. After all that and spending a lot of time reentering passwords, printer drivers etc. I still have the narcolepsy problem. What to do?
