I have got a Philips alarm clock and a Gear4 Houseparty rise and when I connect my Iphone 4 with either I get the message that its not optimised. the phillips dock wont play anything and the gear4 will not allow me to adjust the volume. I have tryed restartin, updating, restoring, everything i can think off but still nothing. any help or suggestions would be great. cheers Nic

ipod/iphones used to have firewire in their pin30 but apple removed that feature
so older docks which used it for powering rather then the usb pins will only work with older iphones/ipods
there is nothing you can do apart from buying a new dock or buying an old iphone/ipod
also have a dock which only works with my old 1g ipod touch 16GB and non of the iphones or ipod touch in later generations
The philips dock is iphone 4 compatible and was only purchased in decemeber and worked at first, the gear4 dock is a week old and also iphone4 compatible so i dont think that is my issue but thanks gor the reply, to save anymore timewasting im going to go the apple store and get them to sort it
