IPv4 Issues

I am trying to connect my mbp to a wireless network via a PPPoE connection. I have followed the instructions from the router and manufacturers website, however, I am unable to configure my IPv4 settings in 10.6 (you can in 10.5) to use PPP to acquire the IPv4 address. Does anyone know a way around this?

I've tried renewing the DHCP lease with other issues on other routers and it has worked, however, here I am not even able to get airport to connect, so there is no DHCP lease to renew. I didn't realize that PPPoE was set at the router though. Would I have to access the router's configuration page to change that? Or is it a manual switch or something externally?
