Lion Mail creating a lot of 'bin' or 'trash' messages

my lion mail is making loads of duplicate messages i presume through autosave as I'm writing the message in two folders, either 'bin' or 'trash'.

this is making searching through messages very difficult as at times i have 20+ duplicates, so its very hard to see the wood from the trees and find the message I'm looking for!

I'm using four google apps imap accounts.

help?

I have a workaround to this.

Select your gmail Bin folder, and then go to Mailbox / Use this mailbox for / Trash.

Provided in your Mail search settings, Trash is unticked in the "When searching all mailboxes" setting, these messages will no longer appear in your searches.
