Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I ran the EFI update 2.2 on my Macbook Pro today, and now it has restarted with a gray screen, and no other icons. Only a black pointer cursor. What should I do? I am currently using my wife's Mac/Apple ID account to access the forums for help.

You need to press ctrl alt shift and the on/off button for 1 second and after that turn it on again, and make sure there is nothing plugged into your mac exept the power cord."
After pressing ctrl, alt, shift, and power, it shut down, and at least I was able to restart it.

I just installed the firmware update, and the grey screen with the whirling disk has been going for 45 minutes...how long should it take?
Did you unpluged all peripherals like USB, firewire, external monitor, etc. when you updated your firmware?
The whole updating process should be less than 10 mintues or even less...
